Lidl wins back support for new supermarket after revised plans
It comes after the supermarket agreed to install a controlled pedestrian crossing on Norwich Road, Halesworth.
The chain lodged its application last year to build on the town's Hammonds Garage site, promising around 40 local jobs.
The scheme has attracted strong public backing, but initially drew criticism from both Halesworth Town Council and Suffolk Highways over road safety.

In updated comments, Suffolk Highways said it no longer objects to the proposals after revised plans showed a new pedestrian crossing.
While the authority said it still did not........
