The Beccles and District Museum has reopened for the season with a display dedicated to Michael and Sylvia Porter who raised more than £122,000 for charity through their postcard collecting.

Their bequest of 1,600 Beccles-related postcards has been digitised and is now accessible on the museum's in-house computer system, as well as part of the new display.

Museum volunteer and exhibition co-creator Allan Smith said his research for the display revealed surprising details about the couple's lives.

Mr Smith said: "We discovered they used to be gardeners and part of the Beccles and District Flower Arranging Club. When we spoke to the people who had been involved, they told us Michael had been chair of the club........
