Owen Keane, 24, of Amulet Close in Thetford, is accused of repeatedly raping the same woman in Basildon.

He appeared at Basildon Crown Court where he pleaded not guilty to all six alleged rapes.

The offences, which span from April 2022 to June 2023, allege vaginal, oral and anal rape.

Keane, wearing a black T-shirt and spectacles, denied each charge in turn – plus a seventh charge alleging he had put the woman in fear of violence between April 2022 and September 2023.

His trial was set for April 2027 and he was released with bail conditions banning him from contacting the alleged victim directly or indirectly.

“You have pleaded not guilty to all seven counts on the indictment,” said Judge Richard Conley.

“That means that there will have to be a trial and the jury will decide whether you are guilty or not guilty of any or all of these offences.

“I am releasing you on bail on the same terms as before… breach that and you will be arrested and be in custody.”
