Upmarket 'party house' at centre of controversy given seal of approval
The Wilderness Reserve's part-retrospective plans to create an 18-bedroom venue in Huntingfield had caused uproar for those living nearby.
Villagers fighting against the bid feared what they had believed was a "peaceful rural retreat" was turning into a "party house" that would disrupt village life.
The company - a retreat sprawling across 8,000 acres of Suffolk countryside - wanted the venue to host spa retreats, corporate events, weddings, celebrations, ranger activities and educational visits for up to 270 people.
On Tuesday an East Suffolk Council planning committee meeting was held once again to determine the fate of the venue called Blyth Barn at Valley Farm which saw more than 40 objectors attend.
