Mr E Top, of Lavash Kitchen in Lowestoft, had retrospectively applied for permission to replace "unsecure and damaged timber doors" with new aluminium doors in October 2023.

The previous doors to the restaurant, which spans across three buildings in the High Street, were said to have been subjected to "prolonged weathering and little maintenance by previous occupiers".

The documents added that this resulted in "water ingress and poor security", and argued the aluminium doors "improves the thermal properties and security of the building which is vital in a high street location".
