Speed limit to be halved in Norfolk village after nearly a decade of safety calls
Norfolk County Council has proposed to reduce the speed limit on two roads in Aldeby, near Beccles, from 60mph to 30mph.
For those living nearby, this has been a long-awaited and welcomed change.
Karen Kennedy-Hill, chairwoman of Aldeby Parish Council, said the council is "delighted" about the proposal.
She said: "The parish council has been attempting to get a speed limit change on these roads approaching now 10 years.
"These are residential roads with one side taken by parked cars and children play on the roads."
