The Playters Solar Farm is to install new infrared beams and CCTV camera systems on its site in Church Road, Ellough.

Its bid has been approved by East Suffolk Council.

The installation of the equipment is considered "essential infrastructure" to secure the farm near Beccles and will serve as a "crucial tool for enhancing surveillance and detection capabilities".

In planning documents online, it said: "Theft on solar sites is increasing, creating operational challenges within the industry.........
