Photos emerge of near-deserted crocodile enclosure where boy, 3, was thrown in

Dozens of families were visiting the Johnsons of Old Hurst zoo in Huntingdon this week at the peak of the school holidays.

However, only a few ventured into the Tropical House where the boy was thrown 15ft into the enclosure and then bitten by at least one of the reptiles.

A visitor who spent time inside the house said it was noticeably empty, in contrast to the rest of the zoo which was busy with families during the school holidays.

The elevated walkways and fenced areas were described as "quiet and sombre", and only one adult and a child, believed to be about seven, were seen during a ten-minute visit.
