The George and Dragon, by the A146 in Thurton, had transformed their "Covid shelter" into a function room last November.

But earlier this year Hossein Behbehani had retrospectively applied permission for the changes.

In the planning documents it said the shelter was first approved in 2021 during the Covid pandemic restrictions, and was used for the purposes of eating and drinking outdoors.
