Halesworth and District Museum is displaying a potential "ancient warlord's ransom of gold coins" as another 22 Iron Age coins have been discovered,

They are linked to a previously found hoard and the new find brings the Suffolk hoard to a total of 41 coins that were all found buried at a site near Blythburgh.

The collection provides a glimpse into the last decades of the richest and most powerful Ancient Britons of the region as the coins represent great wealth and status.

The coins were minted in Britain between 60BC and 25AD, before the Roman occupation.

They were believed to be buried at the site around 25D as no later coins were found.
