Dunkirk Little Ship from Broads retraces lifesaving route across Channel
And now the Elsa II has recreated that dangerous route as she set off from her Norfolk home across the English Channel once again.
Elsa II, a Dunkirk little ship owned by Harvey Snowling, set off from Gillingham near Beccles to join a commemorative fleet marking the 85th anniversary of Operation Dynamo.
A flotilla of more than 60 little ships involved in the operation gathered in Ramsgate ready to re-enact the heroic voyage to Dunkirk for the first time in 10 years.
The fleet left Ramsgate Royal Harbour alongside seven Royal Navy escorts and RNLI lifeboats.
