On Tuesday night, the Beccles Fenland Charity Trust discussed whether fishing should no longer be permitted in Gas Dyke, a narrow section of Beccles Quay,

The discussion was sparked after a report to the trust of a fisherman injuring himself after falling into the River Waveney and complaints of fishing hooks ending up in boaters' ropes.

It had also been heard at a previous committee meeting that there had been allegations of anglers "tampering" with a boat but the harbour masters at the quay and the boat owner had no evidence of this.

At Tuesday night's full trust meeting it was said the organisation can not ban fishermen from angling at Gas........
