'Careless' anglers may face ban from fishing in popular spot
Beccles Fenland Charity Trust is set to discuss whether fishing should be permitted in Gas Dyke, a narrow section of Beccles Quay close to the car park.
There have been reports to the trust of a fisherman injuring himself after falling into the river and complaints of fishing hooks ending up in boaters' ropes.
As well as hearing about "sometimes careless fishermen", a trust meeting had also heard there had been allegations of anglers "tampering" with a boat but the harbour masters at the quay and the boat owner had no evidence of this.
