Judge's tough remarks to illegal immigrant as he says deterrent sentences are needed
Judge Andrew Shaw handed Ridell Nazaj a 20-month jail sentence after the 35-year-old was caught by police with £100,000 of cannabis in Thetford.
In hard-hitting remarks, told the defendant it was not mitigation to say - as many defence lawyers claim - that those who come to the UK illegally find themselves in the grip of criminal gangs.

Nazaj, who was in this country illegally, was disqualified from driving and had £1,600 of cash in the car when he was stopped in June this year.
Norwich Crown Court heard he had previously been caught with 5kg of cannabis in West Sussex in February 2024 for which he received three months in custody.
