Shock report reveals care home staff called residents by their door numbers
The situation comes as residents at Ailwyn Hall in Honingham were also routinely referred to by their room number rather than their name.
The home between Norwich and Dereham has been found to be in breach of legal regulations by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in relation to safeguarding and is to remain in special measures.
Care home bosses say they strongly dispute any suggestion that Ailwyn Hall failed to take safeguarding concerns seriously.
Serious allegations had been made against agency staff to both the CQC and to police.

Despite this, inspectors identified four staff - either banned from the service or involved in an ongoing safeguarding investigation - who continued to be booked for shifts.
One member of staff was also providing one-to-one care for someone living with dementia, despite not knowing their name or needs and senior staff being unaware the person was in the building.
The home, which looks after older people and people with dementia, was visited by CQC inspectors in February and March of this year in response to the above investigation.
