Scorching sun and drought causes problems for major seafront revamp
But in Lowestoft the scorching dry weather has led to problems on a flagship project.
Improvements and repairs are set to be made to the landscaping of the major revamp of Britain's most easterly seafront.
The ongoing heatwaves and dry weather have badly affected trees, shrubs, coastal grasses and flora that had been planted as part of a significant Lowestoft scheme on Royal Green.
Works to regenerate three key seafront areas had started in the winter of 2024, and had largely been completed last summer.
Led by East Suffolk Council, landscaping and civil engineering specialists Blakedown Landscapes oversaw the £1.9 million Lowestoft Seafront Vision project to transform the Royal Plain, Royal Green and South Quay Wharf areas of town.
