Major development set at UK's most easterly port despite kittiwake fears
The £35m construction of Associated British Ports’ (ABP) Lowestoft Eastern Energy Facility (LEEF) was completed in late 2024, and then officially opened in January last year by the secretary of state for energy and net zero, Ed Miliband.
The port has been transformed into an "offshore energy hub" as the LEEF site is overseen by port owner and operator ABP.
