Inspirational Second World War hero celebrates 100th birthday
Jack Munday was surrounded by family as he celebrated his centenary and received a card from the King.

At a special family meal at the Hotel Hatfield in Lowestoft, Mr Munday said: "It cannot be true as I don't feel 100.
"I don't use a walking stick as they are for old people.
"My father lived to be 85.
"I still enjoy an occasional glass of non alcoholic stout and also enjoy nature.”

Born in Norwich on May 24, 1925, Mr Munday was called up in 1943 as an 18-year-old.

He joined the RAF and flew with the 625 Squadron in Lancasters as a Flight Engineer.
