Alexander Goodwill, 34, had been working the midnight to 6.30am shift at Waitrose in North Walsham for five months when he unexpectedly failed to arrive for work in November 2025.

His concerned line manager, Lorraine Mouser, alerted his family and police discovered his body at his Brundall flat a short time later.

She told an investigation at Norfolk Coroner’s Court that Mr Goodwill was a “good worker and a nice person” who, despite absences through illness had impressed colleagues enough to have his temporary contract extended.
