Landowner aims to tip the balance on second homes in Norfolk village

Alice Atkinson, who grew up in the village of Cley-Next-the-Sea, is seeking to turn Woodcock Yard at her 800-acre family farm into a development of nine houses.

It is aimed at young working people who have the potential to bring a fresh lease of life to the village.

The new development aims to combat the inflated house prices caused by a lack of supply and the prolific second home ownership that villages like Cley across North Norfolk are afflicted by.

It means young people struggle to get onto the housing ladder in the area.
