A bid to restore the building, which was once the Cat and Fiddle in Magdalen Street, has been put forward by the site's owner Jonathan Thursby. 

Under the plans the building's roof – which was destroyed in the blaze last year – will be rebuilt.

The proposals also include work to strip out the remnants the contents left by those who were living there.
