£350,000 bus stop revamp details revealed
A major scheme will see the public space outside the North Norfolk Railway in Sheringham being turned into a new "travel hub" for the town.
Known locally as Ottendorf Green and located on Station Approach, the area is a main gateway to the high street, situated between the town’s main car park, bus and rail links and the North Norfolk heritage railway.
It will see the replacement of the existing brick bus shelter, providing improved safety and accessibility, with lighting and a larger waiting area for passengers
A new bus shelter will also be built and a cycle repair area and a water bottle filling station will be created.
The details have been revealed by Norfolk County Council and Sheringham Town Council.
The budget for the scheme is £358,000, which will be funded as part of Norfolk County Council’s Bus Grant and £8,000 funding from the town council.
