The Norfolk Gift Company is in the running for a Best High Street Business title in the UK Small Business Awards.

The shop, on Watton High Street, showcases work by more than 60 local crafters, makers and artists, from jewellery and textiles to homeware and art prints.

Natalie Hutchings is marking four years since she opened the doors, a milestone she says reflects how far the business has come.

She said the nomination feels like recognition not just for her, but for the makers and customers who have backed the shop since it started.

"Being selected as a finalist is such an honour," she said.

"The shop has always been about supporting local makers, so to be recognised in this way means the world.

The store focuses on handmade, small‑batch products that shoppers are unlikely to find in national chains.

Ms Hutchings says every sale supports a real person behind the item – whether that is a neighbour sewing in the evenings, a parent pouring candles at the kitchen table or an artist painting familiar Norfolk scenes.
