Vandals target nesting site of threatened bird on Norfolk beach
Ringed Plovers are wading birds that are classified as red under the Birds of Conservation Concern listing.
The first Ringed Plover nests of the season appeared on Snettisham and Heacham beaches a few weeks ago.

RSPB volunteers installed rope cordons and fence posts to protect the area, as they have each year since 2021, but the charity has now shared that these measures have been deliberately vandalised.
“At first it was a removed sign and a snapped fence post," Wynona Legg, the RSPB's Ringed Plover project officer, explained.
