The Independent newspaper released a ranking of the best places to stay outside of the summer months and The Blakeney Hotel made the cut.

The establishment sits right on the quay and boasts stunning views of the salt marshes.

The Independent highlighted this and called it "a great spot from which to explore this part of the UK’s east coast".

"The hotel has 60 rooms, some of which have views over the salt marsh or patios leading out to the garden," the writer said.

"There’s also the Boat Shed, a cottage that sleeps six people."

They also complimented the restaurant and bar, where guests can tuck into dishes full of locally sourced ingredients.

The wider area described as "excellent for coastal walks, bird watching, and boat trips to see the seals at Blakeney Point".

Some other hotels on the list were The Pig on the Beach in Dorset, No. 42 by GuestHouse in Margate and The Suffolk, just over the county border in Aldeburgh.
