Row erupts over councillor's barn conversion plans in tiny Norfolk hamlet
Locals in Rush Green, on the edge of Barnham Broom, have expressed outrage after Rebecca Hill, a parish councillor, lodged proposals to convert two barns on her land into housing.
Despite it being a contentious application, the vice chairman of Barnham Broom Parish Council asked councillors to vote on the item over email rather than discussing it at a public meeting.
John Cowan, another member of the council, said he feared the decision could be seen as "underhanded" and urged members to meet and debate the item with villagers.
