Officials rule pathway through family garden SHOULD be open to public
The Planning Inspectorate has issued its final decision on the disputed route through the property of John and Ann Scott in the tiny hamlet of Thompson.
The route has been the subject of two public hearings as the Scotts have resisted a ruling by officials that this must be designated a public right of way - allowing villagers to walk straight across their lawn.
However, following the second inquiry, the Planning Inspectorate has upheld its decision that the route should be open to the public.
