Energy firms 'pause' plans for 1,000-battery scheme in Norfolk countryside
RPC and Elmya Energy have paused their proposals for more than 1,000 containers to be installed across farmland in Rushall, near Diss.
The project, called Dodd's Wood, would store excess energy from renewable sources such as solar or wind farms to save electricity for later use.
This sparked concerns among locals who feared the battery energy storage system (BESS) would pose a fire risk to the area.
Following a short-lived public consultation, the energy firms have suspended the scheme.
