The vote will be held in Acle ward on Broadland Council after Lana Hempsall, a Conservative who ran to be the MP for Norwich South in 2017, stepped down from her role.

Ms Hempsall was first elected to the authority in 2011 and is also a member of Norfolk County Council, where she retains her position.

The by-election at Broadland Council will be held on May 15........
