'We hope that they would not walk past another Marie' - family's plea after tragedy

Marie Cattermole died at the age of 32 while she was sleeping rough in Norwich, with an inquest into her death concluding last week.

The two-day case heard that troubled Miss Cattermole had been motionless in Prince of Wales Road for hours before any attempts were made to rouse her - and was even ignored by numerous police officers.

Marie Cattermole (Image: Amy Franklin) The tragic incident occurred on freshers' night in 2022, one of the busiest nights of the year on the city's main party street.

While she lay unresponsive, assumed asleep, she was walked past by eight different police officers, including two who saw her three times.

When she was eventually checked on - two hours after she was last seen to move -and found to be in cardiac arrest, two police volunteers were said to be like "rabbits caught in headlights" and did not begin CPR.

Following an inquest into her death, her loved ones........
