Bosses at Norwich Camping and Leisure have installed a cabin at their Blofield property to host other independent businesses.

The 7ft by 7ft shop is available to rent over weekdays or weekends and can be booked through the business' website.

Jordan Holmes, director of the business, said every weekend in May is already fully booked.

He said independent businesses are not always keen on agreeing to longer contracts, while shorter contracts offer them more flexibility.

Mr Holmes said: "We've found lots of independents don't want to commit to monthly or yearly contracts so these week and weekend offers have been really popular."

The first business to try out the new space was Heavenly Crumbles, a dessert business run by Emma and Mark King, who are set to return in the next few months as well as over Christmas.

Mr Holmes added: "It's really popular already and it just gives smaller businesses a place to by booking in advance, pop up and sell their goods on a short-term basis.

"So businesses can really show off what they do."

Mr Holmes says he is likely to add another pop-up shop to help meet the growing demand.

The new addition comes as Mr Holmes and his team gear up for what is already proving to be a busy summer season.

The centre also hosted more than 30 businesses over the weekend during its Spring Maker's Market, where customers could choose from Zaket Potato, Little Miss Cheesecakes, Wiggle Waggle, Sullyboo and Juicy Lucy’s, among others.

Three weeks prior, towards the end of March, it also held its annual Big BBQ Weekend, where camping brands and grill masters showcased their products across the two-day event.
