National Highways has launched an investigation into the strange disappearance of the East Dereham sign - known as a town boundary sign - next to the A47.

Others have spotted the missing sign while driving towards to the market town (Image: Supplied) The government agency noticed the sign was missing during a safety inspection it was carrying out in the area.

Although the circumstances surrounding the sign's disappearance are not yet known, National Highways believes the sign was "removed without permission".
