GP surgery struggling after taking on 1,600 extra patients applies to add extension
Theatre Royal Surgery in Dereham had to register an additional 1,600 patients at the end of March after the closure of Toftwood Medical Centre.
The workload has led the overwhelmed practice to run additional clinics on Saturdays as well as extra remote appointments during the week - but it is still operating above its capacity.
Now the surgery has applied to Breckland District Council to install a modular building to be used as additional clinical space.
