Motorcyclist on defying odds after crash left him unconscious in water-filled ditch

Dr Jones was enjoying a mid-morning ride on his Yamaha FZ6 Fazer motorbike - called Miranda - near Waxham, on June 23, 2018, when a car he was overtaking turned into his path.

He was thrown headfirst through a brick wall before landing, unconscious, in a water-filled ditch.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance's Anglia One helicopter was at the scene within minutes of being called.

After sedating Dr Jones, the crew flew him - with tubes in his neck to help him breathe - to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

He was in a coma for five weeks and spent 10 weeks in hospital. He had suffered four broken ribs, but also head injuries.

Those head injuries, which included three bleeds on the brain, were so severe, the ambulance crew did not think he........
