Major new Norwich Castle exhibition celebrates six decades of Norfolk artist's work

And for Rackheath-born Mr Self, who sprang to prominence in the Pop Art movement of the 1960s, the Norwich Castle retrospective sees his work rubbing shoulders with the artists who inspired him.

Mr Self, 83, who lives near Norwich, said: "I am thrilled to have such an extensive exhibition at Norwich Castle – it’s the first place where I saw art on the walls as a young boy with my uncle Arthur, and it made me wonder, ‘Can people really do this for a living?'"

One Self: The Creative Life of Colin Self is the first major retrospective of Mr Self in 17 years and contains 130 works of art.
