Six of Norfolk's eight councils - all of which face abolition under the Labour government's reorganisation plans - favour the creation of three replacement councils as part of that process.

Norwich, Broadland, Great Yarmouth, North Norfolk, Breckland and West Norfolk had submitted proposals for that model to the government.

That was in contrast to Norfolk County Council, which favours one or two councils and South Norfolk Council, which told the government it wanted two.........
