Companies hit with hundreds of thousands in fines for overrunning Norfolk roadworks
Norfolk County Council has released new figures which revealed that in 2024/25, it collected £345,000 in fines where roadworks overran by 1,317 days - the equivalent of more than three-and-a-half years.
County Hall also issued 2,809 fixed penalty notices to companies which dug up roads without necessary permits or for breaching permit conditions - netting the authority a further £340,000.

The fines range from £80 to £500, depending on the offence. The council is likely to collect even more fines next........
