Call to dig up county's pavements for electric car charging 'experiment' is rejected
Leaders at Norfolk County Council had been mulling over the possibility, which is being trialled by authorities in some other parts of the country.
The idea of pavement channels in Norfolk streets has been ruled out (Image: Department for Transport) The work sees a channel cut into the pavements in terraced streets, with a metal or plastic case containing electric vehicle charging cables slotted into the gap.
Householders can then use those cables to charge up the vehicles parked in their street.
