The National Farmers' Union (NFU) has set out a series of demands for the Treasury ahead of the Spending Review in June.

Top of the list is a UK-wide annual agriculture budget of £5.6bn to "enable a resilient, growing and sustainable agricultural sector that can plan to invest in the future".

"Without this, it is unclear how the sector will be able to meet the government’s targets and commitments across nature, climate, productivity and food security," says the union.
