Family's solar firm keeps evolving to launch 'game-changing' new software

Everblue Solar has grown from the Mack family's farm in Lower Bodham, near Holt - capitalising on the rapid expansion of the solar energy sector.

Chief executive David Mack formed the company with his brothers Robert and George. Their father John, who still runs the 500-acre arable farming operations, is a shareholder, and cousin Charlie is chief financial officer.

A "forward-thinking" approach to diversification and renewable energy initially led the family to build a wind turbine and a 20-acre solar farm to generate new revenues to safeguard the future of the farm business.

Realising the need for professional maintenance for solar panels, Everblue was founded in 2015.

The company specialises in optimising the long-term performance of large "utility-scale" solar plants, by offering services such as cleaning modules, grass cutting, managing biodiversity areas, site inspections and data management.

David said the firm was forged during the subsidy-driven solar boom a decade ago, when it established its software, processes and reputation.

"Now solar has got another boom and there are hundreds of solar farms being built and we are in a really good position to take advantage of that," he said.

This year, Everblue has provided services across 17-18,000 acres of solar farms in the UK and Ireland, and the firm also........
