Hugely controversial plans for development in 'Nelson's village' given go-ahead

West Norfolk Council has agreed plans to turn the buildings at Burnham Thorpe, near Burnham Market, into a luxury home despite almost 100 objections.

Locals feared the development would shatter the peace of the tranquil church next door, where Nelson's father was the rector at the time he was born in 1758.
