St Mary's Church at Wiveton, near Holt, hopes to raise £25,000 by the beginning of November for the first phase of the work.

"Without your support, some of these windows will fall out and we will be forced to have them blocked up, which will mean a part of history will be gone forever," the appeal page says.

"Please give what you can in the knowledge that all donations, large or small, are so gratefully received."
