Appeal over plans to replace shoe tycoon's home with 'appalling' new one
West Norfolk councillors turned down Neil Williamson's proposals to demolish the property on the Beach Road at Holme, near Hunstanton, last June despite being recommended by officials to approve them.
Locals were up in arms over scheme, with 20 objecting, while the then chair of the planning committee Terry Parish called the proposed design "appalling", adding it had "too much glass".
It was then refused because it would "result in harm to a conservation area by reason of poor design and loss of a non-designated heritage asset".
