Why this port is making headlines by showcasing its capabilities
Peel Ports site in Great Yarmouth is a bustling site which is thriving in the maritime world with an array of exciting projects going on.
Last October, it made national headlines by welcoming the MV Ruby that docked at the port carrying 20,000 tonnes of ammonium nitrate.
And more recently, it garnered national attention when the Stena Immaculate oil tanker, which caught fire off the coast of Hull when it was struck by the Solong off the East Yorkshire coast on 10 March, arrived to be assessed

As an example of its versatility and what it can handle, earlier this month train carriages, which were no longer required to transport passengers up and down the UK, were shipped to Mexico, where they will be given a new lease of life when they return to service.
