Firefighters battled the blaze for four hours in the area behind the row of shops on Church Lane in Gorleston yesterday afternoon.

Six of the 20-odd garages have been gutted.

In one of the garages was a Vauxhall Nova that the person renting the garage was refurbishing in his own time.

Other garages contained bikes, household items and garden materials - all of which have been ruined.

The Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service says that the cause of the fire remains unknown,........
