One year on from 'ridiculous' road revamp and major traffic problems remain

But a year after the controversial road works were completed, people have complained that the "new look" Ormesby Road in Caister is "worse than ever".

The road works saw alterations made to the carriageway in the hope of calming traffic near the Persimmon Homes development of 650 homes.

Among the changes to the highway were new pedestrian islands, modifications to pavement widths and an entire new roundabout built.

People have criticised the layout as the pavement was extended into the middle of the old carriageway layout - creating a kink in the road rather than a circle.

Kevin Wood, chairman of Caister Parish Council, is among many who live in the village who are "disappointed" by the work.

"The only positive was adding another pedestrian........
