Developers want to install an array on farmland on the outskirts of Stoke Holy Cross, near Norwich.

The proposal is likely to prove hugely controversial not only because of the proximity to the village but also because several other solar farms are already planned for the Tas Valley, which has become known as Norfolk's Solar Valley.

The biggest of these, the 2,718-acre East Pye - which will be one of the largest in the UK - is within three miles of the Stoke site. Another solar farm, Bloy's Grove, is less than a third of a mile away.
