Swift Technology Group is building the trial facility, which uses a process called pyrolysis to break down plastics.

The company was first granted permission in December 2023, but delays with specialist parts meant more time was needed.

However, the plant will still only be allowed to run for 60 days in total - 30 days for commissioning........
