The passenger from Norwich, who does not want to be named, says he was travelling on a 12-coach service to London on April 26 when he found two of the onboard toilets locked.

He says he waited outside the first toilet as there was no out of service sign on the door but was eventually told by the conductor that it was not in use.

The passenger says he also waited outside another toilet, but again discovered this was not in use.

By the time he was able to locate a working toilet the queue was so long that he was unable to reach it in time - despite not having any issues with incontinence.

A spokesman for Greater Anglia said messaging regarding the status of toilets is communicated through digital screens and it is not "practical" for a staff member to place a sign on the toilet doors halfway through service.........
