Nobody could have predicted that Steve Wright would admit to murdering teenager Victoria Hall on Monday, which should have been the first day of a four-week trial.

The 67-year-old had continued to protest his innocence throughout his trial at Ipswich Crown Court almost 20 years previously, which led to his 2008 conviction and the recommendation that he spend the rest of his days behind bars.
